Marcus Clark (born November 8, 1976) better known by the stage name DJ Shark, is an American DJ and the content producer at Charlotte, NC Power 98 FM. Also DJing across the country spinning the hottest music, captivating audiences in the States and abroad.
Shark is from West Palm Beach, Florida is of African descent and now resides in Charlotte NC by way of Louisville KY. Early in his career, he put his leadership skills into action. In 1991 he and his best friend started South Florida’s electrifying teen DJ crew “Dem Damn Dawgs”. While Gaining much success traveling across the state of Florida Djing at upcoming and popular venues alike. Dem Damn Dogs DJs landed their first single record deal with M.V.P. records in 1993 and released the single “Weed Head” under the group’s original name “Dem Damn Dogs DJ’s which sold over 50,000 hard copies in the Florida region. The popularity of that single grew rapidly which led to other business opportunities for the group and in 1993 Pound Puppy opened their own teen night club in downtown West Palm Beach titled “The Boom Room”.
At age 21 DJ Shark relocated to Louisville, though the turn-tables are his home, they’re not his only haven, DJ Shark is not just a disc jockey; he is a music producer as well. One of his esteemed accomplishments was producing the smash hit single “The Shizz” which became the featured song and dance craze anthem for the N.B.A’s 2010 First Round Draft Pick “John Wall” of the Washington Wizards.
DJ Shark is also known for penning the hit “Who R U” featuring world renowned DJ Drama, which was engineered at “Monster Squad Studios”.
In 2010 “The Shizz” was voted Song of the year by the Kentucky Music Awards, 2011, DJ Shark won Song of the Year again with “Who R U”. Hard work continued to pay off he was assigned acting assistant producer of A&E’s 2012 Documentary “Rules of the Game”. To top it off, in 2013 the Kentucky Music Awards voted him Host / Hype Man of the year.
Shark continues to captivate audiences nationwide. His success stems from the ability to control his crowd; engaging them in the music which drives them not only to be listeners but participants in the DJ Shark experience.
